They are the best tasting energy drinks I've ever tasted and they are very effective. I am truly a Monster convert. I was never a fan of energy drinks, and still am not. Monster is the only brand I trust and love. Years ago, in college, I tried a tablet of No-Doze and it turned me into a wreck, forever turning me off to energy boosters and caffeine-loaded products. I had the shakes and couldn't even hold a pencil properly. I'd seen Monster around for years, but never tried one until recently, given my No-Doze encounter and experience trying out other kinds of energy drinks over the years. Red Bull, Von Dutch, Mountain Dew AMP, Rockstar, Jolt, Dekavita... They all taste really disgusting. (word of advice: Don't Do the Dew! AMP is absolutely revolting!!). They also didn't work for me. I didn't get the kick I needed from any of these drinks. Then, about a month ago, working on a project w/ some game studio guys, they recommended this to me. They said that's how they got through the long nights and lack of sleep. I tried one and was surprised at how good it tasted. But more importantly, it worked. Since then, Monster has provided me a way to get through the day on long projects, even on as little as 3-4 hours of sleep. It's not a good way to work, but if you have to abuse your body, Monster is the tastiest way to do it :) Too bad Amazon itself doesn't carry this product. The 3rd party vendors charge an arm and a leg. I can get a can at the store for $2. Ordering a case from the sellers here will cost more than going to a shop. 1 of 1 found this review helpful: MONSTER IS #1 !!, 2007-10-17 You get double the mount compared to RED BULL and for less. I thought RED BULL was getting smarter by making a bigger can, nope a 12oz can for $3.00 yeah right I'll stay with MONSTER!! I can get a can of MONSTER between $2.00 & $2.50 and thats a 16oz can. Unless your down right stupid you would go with MONSTER too!! I would rate this product a 10 from 1to10!! 3 of 3 found this review helpful: THE BEST, NO QUESTION!!!, 2006-07-21 I love MONSTER green! It is better than any other energy drink I have tried, and I have tried them all. It makes you feel great and the taste is refreshing, slighly sweet and fruity, lemon/lime and lightly carbonated. The best thing about this engergy vitamin drink that makes MONSTER so much better than all the others is it does not have that bad after taste that's like some "medicine" All the other kinds of energy drinks I've tried have that medicine taste. 2 of 3 found this review helpful: Too big? HA too small, 2006-05-10 Theres no way this is too small. Its a perfect size, and every once in a while you need to upgrade to the 24oz can to reallly get a caffene fix. Redbull sucks, dont lump it in with monster, Monster is a breed of its own. Kaos tastes better than normal monster though. 2 of 10 found this review helpful: Overrated, 2006-05-02 Monster is a decent energy drink, but for me, it's too big. Who the hell needs 16 Oz of energy drink? ( Equivilent to two Red Bulls ). It certainly does give you some energy, but if you don't eat before having some of this, prepare for an annoying stomach ache. It's an okay drink, but you could get smaller. Monster really just tastes like Red Bull, but people say it "goes down easier". Taste: 8/10. Tastes pretty good. Tastes like Red Bull but it goes down real smooth. Smell: 9/10. Smells better than it tastes but smells freakin' good as hell. 8.1/10 Try it out.
